On March 3, 1899, Arthur Edward Waite was accepted into the Inner Order of Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn (Rosae Rubeae et Aureae Crucis), in the register his name was recorded at number 123. Arthur Edward Waite is an outstanding English author of many works on occultism, kabbala, and mysticism. In his retelling, the English-speaking readers became acquainted with the philosophy and concepts of Eliphas Levi and Louis Claude de Saint-Martin, and learned about the main trends in Kabbalah. He also compiled the Masonic Encyclopedia. In 1903, Arthur Edward Waite founded Independent and Rectified Order R. R. et A. C. based on the Hermetic Order of Golden Dawn system.
